Gary Moorhead
Managing Director

Moorhead is a Managing Director for the Imperium Consulting Group, based in Bellevue, Washington. He leads a multi-disciplined team of engineers, accountants, construction experts and other consulting specialist across Imperium’s offices.
Gary provides expertise managing engagements and performing various consulting and project advisory services for the engineering and construction industries. His focus includes damages assessment for construction project contract claims, change order pricing, and project and contract audits for project owners, general contractors and subcontractors.
Moorhead is a licensed CPA with over 35 years of experience. During his career, Gary has gained the confidence of general contractors, subcontractors, project owners and attorneys for the preparation and defense of contractor assertive damages claims. His experience includes vertical construction (commercial, residential, educational facilities and hospitals), oil and gas, process/petrochemical facilities, power plants, dams, transportation (ports, rail, bridges and highways), tunnelling, mining and underground infrastructure industry sectors.
Gary's experience developing and reviewing assertive claims includes all phases of the dispute resolution process including mediation, state and federal court and various Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) forums.
Gary began his career with Ernst & Young, and for the last 30 plus years focused exclusively on the construction industry, gaining extensive experience in the preparation and defense of assertive contractor claims, preparation of termination for convenience settlement proposals, construction related cost analyses, implementation of accounting and project management systems and analysis of contractor’s financial statements.
Prior to joining Imperium Consulting Group, Gary was a Partner of The Sutor Group, a renowned construction consulting practice in the Pacific Northwest where he serviced the construction industry.
Gary has been engaged as an expert witness at trial, arbitration and mediation, and has lectured in various areas, such as quantification of construction damages, project management topics, cost accounting and contractor financial statement analysis.
Gary has testified and has been qualified as an expert in over 30 adversary hearings in both state and federal courts and arbitrations as well as others with deposition testimony only.
